the SCAT3 application is a standardized tool for evaluating injured athletes for concussion and can be used for athletes aged from 13 years and older. it supersedes the original SCAT and the SCAT2 published in 2005 and 2009, respectively. preseason baseline testing with the SCAT3 can be helpful for interpreting post-injury test scores.
The objective for this project was to create a user-friendly interface specifically for an iPad (or any tablet)* to be used on the fly during games when a concussion is suspected.
*can also be used very well from a smartphone, laptop or desktop computer
*You will need to create an account to test this application. This application is freely available to everyone.
The application has simple and complex input areas for data entry. You can add information as well as edit any section as needed.
Each page has a list of easy to follow instructions for the tester to folow (also note the clear navigation at the bottom). This lets you go back and forth between sections as well as print or save and exit. The system will always remember your last entry and will start on the same page the next time you login to update that users information.
Finally once you have entered all the information you will recieve a summary for your current score as well as a baseline score.
